What a dubious character! They had the audacity to say I was part of a car crash last year-something that certainly isn't true-and they were keen on helping me get some insurance payout. All they required were my banking details. Absolutely not, I shut that down promptly!

If we want these scam calls to end, it’s really important that everyone reports them straight to the official cyber crime police channels. There are 4 posts just a couple below this one which explain exactly how to do it and give more info on scams. Scammers hate it when people find out about these reporting options and might even try to hide that info. Don’t just expect someone else to handle it. Unless people actually report these annoying calls and texts, they’ll go on forever. So stop moaning about it and start reporting!

On the morning of Saturday 14th Jan, about 10.30, I got a call from someone saying they were with EE. They asked how much I usually pay and said they had a big discount for me. It felt odd, nothing like the calls I've ever had from EE before, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some guy pretending to be from Currys PC World, trying to push products on me. Seriously? His English was pretty terrible, sounded like an Indian dude. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Somebody pretending to be from Virgin Media called me, was really rude and even hung up on me. I reported the number to Virgin Media and then they rang back again. I checked with Virgin Media and they said it’s a scam number. The caller was quite aggressive, felt like proper harassment.
