Got a call from a bloke saying my washing machine insurance had expired and if I wanted to renew for three years. When I declined, he then tried to sell me a one-year “special offer.” He couldn’t tell me the age of the machine and kept pestering why I wasn’t interested in the insurance. He said if I didn’t agree, he’d cancel my policy. I tried to ask more questions but he just hung up on me. Feels like a total scam as the only thing he knew was my name, nothing else seemed legit.

My dad got a call from 01273091564 about renewing some insurance. Apparently, it was for the protection of the Sky TV box, and the company called itself Premier Protect. From what I can tell, it’s a proper firm but not officially connected with Sky. The insurance was going to cost £99 a year, which we ended up turning down. Sky itself has a ‘Sky Protect’ scheme, linked with D&G as per their site. Just be careful - they might try to sell you cover for stuff you already have insured elsewhere.

I just got a call saying my washing machine’s extended warranty was about to expire and asking if I wanted to renew it. I told them no straight away. Sounds like one of those dodgy scams trying to get your bank info. I hung up pretty quick. I did forget to ask if they even knew what brand my machine is or which company they were calling from.

Received a call from someone claiming to be 'Michael' representing {somecompany}. He was prattling on about an insurance policy for my washing machine, which I don’t even own. He rattled off a name and address, but I didn’t verify anything. I firmly told him to bugger off, scamming git. Honestly, I wish him a rather unpleasant bout of illness, if you catch my drift.
