I recently received a call regarding the warranty for my washing machine, which is, rather notably, on the brink of its 16th birthday. The caller insisted that my warranty was on the verge of expiring, despite the fact that I informed her I currently don’t hold any such warranty. She continued to push me to purchase one, but I firmly declined. After a bit of back and forth, I decided to end the conversation as it was becoming rather tiresome. This isn’t the first time this has happened, mind you; I've had similar calls about six times, each from various numbers. This one was from someone named Dot.

The chap on the other end claimed he was representing "Sky Protection." I informed him that I believed he must have dialled the wrong number. His woeful inquiry of, "But why do you think that, sir?" echoed in my ears as I cut the line. He didn't bother to ring again.

I’ve had a rather familiar experience regarding an unsolicited call about a washing machine - seemed like they already had a hunch about its brand. They also had my name and address to boot! When I inquired, the chap mentioned he was phoning from “Premium Protect.” However, a thorough search has yielded no valid information about this company online. Quite the mystery, if you ask me!
