I got a voicemail from an automated system telling me their inbox was full.

I got a call on my mobile from someone saying they were from Currys about my washing machine’s expired warranty. They tried to tempt me with a big discount, but they didn’t even know my current address, which seemed suspicious. Now, i actually bought my washing machine from Argos, so it clearly wasn’t legit. When i told them i wouldn’t give my card info on the phone and asked for details by email, they just cut me off. Pretty obvious they’re only after cash from folks who might not realise it’s a scam.

Got a call saying my washing machine warranty was up - problem is, I never had one! So I just chatted with her for a bit to waste her time before hanging up.

I picked up the phone but nobody said a word back to me.

This person rang me up knowing my full name, my address, and even the brand of washing machine I have - plus they claimed my warranty had expired. They offered to “renew” the warranty but I told them no and ended the call. I’m pretty sure my details were sold on after I took part in some lifestyle survey, despite me saying I didn’t want to be contacted for anything. My tip: avoid those surveys altogether.

i got a call saying there was something wrong with my bosh washing machine, which they claimed was registered under my name. i told them straight away it was a scam because ive never had a bosh washer or any kind of insurance on one. then i just told them off and hung up. this is the third time in a few weeks ive had calls about washing machines. someone told me these scams usually go after older folks trying to trick them. apparently this one's been going around for a few years but seems to have popped up again, so watch out!
