HIDE THIS NUMBER ASAP. Got a call earlier at 9.23 from someone claiming to be from National Survey asking if I had a moment for a quick survey. I said no, but he kept pushing with questions. When I mentioned new legislation, he insisted they comply with it. Asked where they got my number, and he said I’d filled out a form saying I was okay to be contacted. I told them to remove me, but they claimed my number’s already been sold across the country and I should expect more calls. Honestly, I’m shocked and annoyed. Don’t pick up if this number rings. HIDE IT!

Really annoying and a bit worrying. They rang about some survey, got my name wrong at first, then said sorry and corrected it. Claimed to be from a national survey and asked a few questions. After that, they told me the call would be recorded and someone else might contact me based on my answers. I told them that they need my consent first these days thanks to the new rules. They said they do follow the new data protection laws, but I asked how they were allowed to call me without my permission. Then I just ended the call.

He said it wasn’t a sales call but some kind of national survey. Then he asked what paper I read, but later said the call was being recorded and their partners might get in touch with offers and deals. I told him I didn’t consent to my details being shared with other firms. He claimed they’d bought my number so other companies probably had it anyway. I reminded him that cold calling sales calls aren’t allowed anymore and repeated my refusal to have my number passed on. He just said “too late” and hung up. Proper cheeky bloke.
