Some bloke called saying my washing machine warranty had just run out. I said it actually ended a couple of years back, but he insisted it was only yesterday. Proper cheeky behaviour if you ask me.

They just wanted my last name first, then asked for my full name but I said I didn’t know it. Told them that lots of people could have that name. They then said they were sure they were speaking to the right person and it was something to do with a Hotpoint washing machine. I told them we don’t own any Hotpoint stuff. After that, the call just got cut off. Watch out, it’s definitely a scam.

Got a call about a washing machine 'insurance' deal - either £99 for a year or over £200 for three years, although they tried to say there's a 50% off 'discount'. The company was called PYB, something like 'Protect Your Bubbles'? Caller claimed they were from Glasgow but the number started with 01273, which is Brighton. When I asked for the company's address, they put me through to a manager, but then the phone just cut off unexpectedly.

She offered a one-year extension for £99 or a three-year one for just over £200. I asked if she could send me the details in an email first, which she said she would. Then she went over the payment options again - I told her I wasn’t comfortable sorting that out over the phone. It really felt like she was about to ask for my bank info next. Honestly, they’re getting smarter with these calls, and it’s a bit unnerving.
