They gave me this number 01273 855237 which looks like a total scam to me. Cheers for the heads up, Stephen, you muppet! It’s just awful how they target older folks like that.

The person or people in the Brighton area are absolute nuisances. They use several different numbers but keep ringing about washing machine insurance. How do they even get hold of our details? I wonder if anyone actually answers and pays for these calls. It’s all the time, from early morning right through to evening, sometimes they ring a couple times a day, always with different numbers. They seriously need to be thrown in the bin and forgotten about. That’s my rant done.

This number has been ringing me quite a bit. The bloke on the other end knows my name, but I’ve never had a clue who he is. He’s called from a few different numbers which I’ll share here. Most calls come in the afternoon, though there was one on a Saturday too. I know the voice, so I just cut it off straight away, but it still doesn’t sit right with me. Feels like he’s clever enough to spoof the numbers or something.

Got a call saying my washing machine service contract was up for renewal and that it would be cheaper this time. When I said yes, he asked for my card info but wouldn’t say which card, saying it’d be illegal due to data protection. The way he spoke was really rude and dodgy. Feels like a total scam. Almost got taken in by this one. Caller claimed to be from National Home Cover, had my name and address, saying my washing machine insurance had run out. Said a new policy would cost £130 but could knock it down to £66. Claimed the cover was the same as before under the manufacturer’s warranty. Wanted to ask some questions - like if the machine was working alright and what brand it was. I asked again who exactly he was calling from and why, since I'd had cover through Currys before. He then got pretty rude, moaning about why I was wasting his time and going along with him.

Asked for info on the plan and then he switched to saying it was the manufacturer’s warranty about to expire. Pretty obvious it was just a trick to push a service plan. some bloke called himself christopher jones and said he was ringing about my tv protection plan. he told me the manufacturer’s guarantee was up, but i told him my tv is like 15 years old now so i already knew the warranty was knackered. i asked what company he was with, “national home cover” he said. he sounded sorry and said he thought my tv was only a couple years old. he promised to check why they got in touch with me.
