Phone number ☎️ 01273004221 👆 is reported as a number associated with suspicious calls claiming to be from a Fraud Action Team linked to Trading Standards, often involving timeshare issues. Callers typically offer help recovering money lost to timeshare scams in exchange for upfront fees, or seek personal experiences for supposed documentaries. Investigations reveal no legitimate organisation at the given addresses, and contact attempts frequently go unanswered. The scheme appears to mislead by resembling official fraud-reporting bodies. Recipients are strongly advised to exercise caution, avoid providing personal information or payments, and verify independently before engaging. Genuine concerns about fraud should be directed to recognised national agencies rather than these callers.

3 yearsGot a call from a Dartford number, 01322 586252, from a woman claiming to be with the Fraud Action Team linked to 'Trading Standards'. She mentioned my name and details were listed in connection with timeshare firms worldwide. She also provided a number, 01273 004221, saying it’s Brighton Trading Standards, along with a reference code. She said they could assist with any issues related to timeshare cold callers!DartfordFraud Action TeamTrading StandardsBrighton Trading Standards3 yearsBeware, this is definitely a con. A bloke named "Gary Smith" rang me, claiming he could get back money lost in a timeshare rip-off through legal action. He demanded an advance fee before anything could be done. Absolute rubbish, don’t fall for it. The number he gave for a follow-up call was 01322 586525. Stay clear!Gary Smith3 yearsSo I got a call from someone claiming they were from THE FRAUD ACTION TEAM, saying they’re working on a documentary for the BBC that’ll air in about 8 months. They rattled off a bunch of people and firms supposedly under investigation. When I asked how I could be sure they weren’t scammers, they said they weren’t after my info or money, just interested in my story. They mentioned offices in Dartford, Northampton, and Brighton. The number I got was local to Brighton. I tried looking up the Northampton postcode they gave me, NN1 4BQ, but it doesn’t seem to exist. They said their address was 47 High Street but couldn’t find anything there - the High Street looks mostly residential, and the building numbers jump oddly from 35b to 53, nothing matching 47. For Brighton, the postcode BN2 4QN matched the Westergate Business Centre. I rang them on 01273 818999 and asked if ‘The Fraud Action Team’ had an office there. I was told there were no tenants by that name at the centre (Unit 5). Apparently none of the other units had anyone by that name either. The person who answered said they worked for East Brighton Trust C.I.C. The Dartford postcode they gave, DA1 5FS, matches a business park there, but I couldn’t find any company called The Fraud Action Team at that address. Honestly, my advice is to be careful and do your own checks if you get a similar call. I’ve made my own decision about what this was after trying to ring back with no luck - just silent ringing. One last thing: if you google ‘Fraud Action Team’ it just brings up Action Fraud - the official UK body for reporting scams. Seems a bit fishy, maybe an intentional mix-up? Could just confuse people until after they’ve already handed something over.THEBBCDartfordNorthamptonBrightonHigh StreetGoogle Street ViewWestergate Business CentreThe Action Fraud TeamDartford Business ParkGoogleFraud Action TeamAction FraudUK3 yearsI got a call from a telemarketer trying to pitch legal help about getting out of a timeshare contract. They kept pushing a ‘free consultation’ and then said a solicitor would be arranged, but you'd have to pay. Honestly, watch out before you agree to anything or share your details with these sorts of call centres.Submit Your Own Report (01273 004221)
