Beware of so-called emergency plumbers claiming they’re local to Brighton with a UK number, but actually ringing from abroad. They’re pretending to be genuine plumbers but it’s a complete con. The company only uses mobile numbers, and they switch the numbers they advertise all the time. These scammers have paid for top spots on a popular search engine and their 5-star reviews are obviously fake, just to cover up the trick. Search for emergency plumbers and you’ll find them under that same name, but it’s all a front. Avoid at all costs!

Absolutely a con! I had a boiler emergency and called them, but they refused to give their location. When I said not to bother coming, they started yelling at me. Then they tried charging me a cancellation fee even though I never agreed to anything. I ended up blocking their number. Proper shocking behaviour!

Heads up, loads of folks have mentioned this number belongs to a firm called 'Direct 24' (or something along those lines). I saw the feedback before the appointment and called off the visit just as the guy showed up. He was actually quite nice and said he was working freelance. After he left, I ended up on the phone with someone from 'Direct 24' who was quite pushy, trying to get me to go through with the visit. I said no and mentioned the dodgy reviews I’d read. Eventually they gave in, but at one point they tried to make me pay the £180 fee for the visit - even though the plumber never actually entered the house.

We thought we were dealing with a local electrician, but after checking this site and feeling a bit iffy, my partner and I decided to pull out. Yet these guys kept ringing, insisting we pay a cancellation charge. It's mad because we cancelled just minutes after booking and they hadn’t even turned up yet. No time lost at all, so why would there be a fee? My partner didn’t budge and refused to cough up. They even tried to scare us, saying they’d call the cops, like that would frighten us. Honestly, I reckon the police wouldn’t take their side in this at all. We never signed anything agreeing to a cancellation fee, so there’s no legal standing for their claim. Avoid this place at all costs! Total rip off. I rang them to ask about their plumbing work and it was clear they didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. We arranged a time for them to come round, but they never turned up. Then, five hours later, they phoned back and were downright rude, even chuckling like it was some kind of joke. Honestly, we’re so relieved we didn’t let these people inside our home. What a nightmare!

Avoid these lot at all costs. I called for an electrician and ended up with a plumber instead. They claimed the ‘electrician’ travelled from Kings Lynn to Norwich, but there’s no way he did - the job was done in less than half an hour, so must have been someone local. Loads of confusion, and then I got a call from the main company where a woman was really rude, insisting I pay £144 even though no work was done. We thought they’d sent out the electrician we usually deal with, but it wasn’t the case. Luckily, our regular guy was with us and he’s a top bloke, because the woman from the company wouldn’t leave until we promised to pay. Honestly, steer clear of these people.

Don't believe them at all. This company claims to connect you with plumbers, and I shelled out £380 thinking I'd have access to a working bathroom for a whole day. After 24 hours, the leak was still there. Tried calling and texting them, but no response whatsoever. Plus, they never gave me any sort of receipt or invoice. When the lads eventually turned up, they seemed barely out of their teens, yet their manager insisted one of them had eight years under his belt. Completely dodgy.
