This number calls me a couple of times every day. When I don’t pick up and it goes to voicemail, it leaves a strange message like "please replace the handset and try again" and then blasts out annoying, loud beeping for over a minute, even though they’re the ones calling. If your phone shows the caller ID and you spot this number, it’s better just to answer and hang up straight away instead of letting it go to message. Or if you can, just block the number altogether.

Throughout this week, I've noticed the sound of a child wailing or the television blasting up to three times daily; yet, curiously, there's been no actual conversation. It was the same story last week as well. I reckon it's high time that all telephone service providers, be it mobile or landline, disclose their identities to us. After all, we're the ones footing the bills and entering into contracts. Moreover, I believe we need to scrutinise the call centres of these large corporations to ensure they are thoroughly vetting their 'so-called' staff.

I told her I already had cover, but she said she might offer me a better deal. I said I wasn't interested, yet she kept going on about savings or whatever. I told her she was wasting her breath, then ended the call. Don’t be tricked by the Northern accent, it might well be a scam. I doubt any proper over 50s insurance firms would cold call people like that.
