Got a call from 01272494190, an Asian woman claiming to be from BT. She said there was an issue with hackers messing with my broadband and that they needed to disconnect it. When I told her we don’t even have internet here, she just hung up straight away.

As soon as I picked up, they just ended the call. When I tried ringing the number back, it didn’t register anywhere. Looks like these scammers are using internet phones to fake this number.

I had a call from this number earlier today (24th October 2017) around half past ten in the morning. When I picked up, there was complete silence on the other end. I recognised this number from a previous 1471 enquiry after I returned home. A bit of digging online suggests that it might be a scam, as mentioned by others who’ve encountered it. Quite concerning, really!

Got a call from a polite-sounding young Asian guy claiming he was from BT. I played along and said "Yeah, right," and then he just went quiet and soon after ended the call. I’m not saying I’m Sherlock or anything, but something about it didn’t add up to me - feels like he was trying to scam or get my info.

They said they were calling from BT and mentioned something about strange internet behaviour. Honestly, I’m quite shocked that a UK number would be involved in something like this. It’s just like those typical scam calls where they try to coax you into downloading some so-called 'fix.' It's infuriating!

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming he worked for BT Openreach. Said they’d supposedly been keeping an eye on my phone line for weeks and found hackers from overseas trying to get into my router. Told me to turn my computer on. I’ve had a dodgy call like this in the past, supposedly from Microsoft, so I just played along. Left him waiting on the phone for about 10 minutes before he finally hung up. A few minutes later, he called back and wanted me to open event viewer or something. I just messed about and wasted more of his time.

Just got a call a minute ago from someone claiming to be with BT. They gave me a very English sounding name but you could tell straight away they were calling from some call centre in Asia. What baffles me is that BT had blocked this number yesterday, so how it got through now is beyond me! I asked for his number back so I could ring up and verify he was legit, but no surprises there - he just ended the call.

Received a call at precisely 11:27 this morning, 23rd October 2017. I intentionally chose to ignore it since I'm noticing a rise in nuisance callers lately, and I wasn't anticipating any incoming calls. Strangely enough, they didn’t leave a message. I got a call from a guy who said he was from BT’s tech support, sounded like he was Asian. There was loads of noise like he was in one of those call centres. He told me there was suspicious activity on my internet and that it was about to be disconnected. Then he suddenly started speaking in another language and the line cut off abruptly.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent saying he was from BT. Since I’m not even with them, I told him straight away, maybe too quick to hang up actually. I reckon I should’ve said I’d go switch on my computer and then come back to the phone later, just to waste his time and stop him bothering anyone else. That might have made him take my number off his list. Of course, I checked the number he called from, and surprise, surprise - it was unlisted. No proper phone company ever rings from a mystery number like that!

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent and lots of background buzz, sounded like a call centre. They kept saying they were from BT and claimed my internet would be cut off in just a few hours. I recently discovered that 01272 isn’t actually a used area code here in the UK. So, if you get a call from this number, it’s almost certainly a scam. My advice? Don’t pick up and block it straight away. Honestly, the more you answer these dodgy calls, the more they’ll keep ringing you!
