Total scam! Some bloke called pretending to be from BT tech support, going on about my internet being full of viruses and my IP getting hacked... the funny thing is, I don’t even have BT internet!

I was quite taken aback when the call ended up being picked up by Carphone Warehouse’s voicemail.

Someone pretending to be from BT called me up, saying my internet had a virus and would be disconnected soon, even though they didn’t know any of my details. They asked if I had a computer or laptop to fix it, but when I said no, they just ended the call. I then phoned an actual BT advisor who told me it was definitely a scam, and they were trying to get remote access to my devices at home!
