Totally a scam without a doubt. They asked me stuff like "which month do you like better, May or June?" and then went on about whether I preferred Barclays or Lloyds. Then came the weird bit - how do you say Lloyds? Honestly, couldn’t be more obvious!

I answered the phone but all I could hear was silence. Not sure if they've started charging me or anything yet.

It seems I may have received a call from a mistaken number. I've gone ahead and blocked it using my BT call management service.

I got a call from some automated message telling me my IP address was hacked in loads of countries and to press 1 to speak to a tech person. This isn’t the first time I’ve had one of these calls either.

They rang my mum, who’s got dementia, not once but twice, which really upset her as she thought her phone was about to be disconnected. When she tried calling back, all she got was a message saying the voicemail was full. Such a frustrating situation for her.

I've recently encountered an absolute con related to my broadband provider. It seems there are some dodgy individuals out there trying to pull one over on unsuspecting customers!

Beware, it's a scam! Got an automated call claiming to be "Shirley from BT" saying my internet would be cut off in 24 hours. They told me to press 1 to speak to an engineer. Don’t press anything or you’ll get connected. Just hang up because it’s nothing to do with BT or any real internet company.
