I received a rather unsolicited call yesterday from 01271 321500, and it seems they've been at it for quite some time, having previously dialled my number multiple times from 01271 312090. I've never encountered any financial troubles nor have I ever shared my number with these con artists, so I’m baffled as to how they've gotten hold of my private mobile. For weeks now, it’s been a relentless barrage of missed calls, and their approach is a rather annoying one: they never leave a voicemail but just keep ringing until you finally answer or decide to return the call. There was one occasion when I picked up but kept mum, and I could clearly hear the chap on the other end identifying himself as part of The Money Guidance Centre before he decided to quit the call. A quick search online reveals that this company is shrouded in mystery; there's no trace of them on Companies House, and all you seem to find connected to their name or numbers are comments on sites like this one! If Ofcom were not so ineffective, these dubious operations would have been nipped in the bud long ago, and we wouldn't have to endure the hassle of dodgy calls. Instead, our taxes fund Ofcom’s existence while we continue to suffer through these persistent nuisances. If you're feeling bold, you could always try concealing your number and ring The Money Guidance Centre back to either give them a silent treatment or vent your frustrations like I did. Just don’t hold your breath expecting these calls to cease anytime soon!

I received a rather odd call from a number that turned out to be private, which left me a voicemail regarding clearing a debt of £5,000. They gave the option to press 5 to speak to someone or 9 for something else. Naturally, I pressed 5 and expressed my discontent before hanging up. That was earlier in the day, and I figured it was probably unrelated. However, later on, around ten hours after that, I spotted two missed calls from 01271321500.
