The number was unfamiliar so I ignored it and let it ring out, but there was no voicemail. When I tried ringing back, the call got cut off straight away.

I have a strong inkling this number belongs to yet another dodgy scammer. When I picked up, there was absolute silence on the other end, and if you attempt to ring it back, you’re greeted with the predictable “apologies, all lines are currently busy” spiel. I've gone ahead and blocked it.
