I told them I wasn’t interested in any home security stuff, so I just said no.

got a call from some guy peter offering to do an alarm survey, said they'd install an alarm for just £1 but then hit you with a monthly fee. when i asked how much the rental was, he got all dodgy and wouldn’t be clear, so we said no thanks. we’re on the telephone preference service, so strictly speaking they shouldn't be ringing us at all. honestly, i'd say steer clear of these sorts of calls.

I got a call from a lady speaking with a proper English accent, saying she was with some kind of home security company.

I’ve just received a rather intriguing phone call. The woman on the other end seemed quite sincere-though I’m not entirely convinced. She mentioned some sort of initiative aimed at homeowners aged 50 to 85. Apparently, they’re sending people around the neighbourhood to assess whether residents might qualify for an expedited response service. This would allow them to get immediate assistance from the police without having to ring 999. However, when I mentioned wanting to verify the details and requested a contact number, she abruptly hung up on me. Quite suspicious, don’t you think?
