I got a call from a woman who sounded either Asian or African, claiming she was calling for some savings company. She told me her name was Stella, but it was pretty clear she was just making that up. 01270 877349 called me asking if I was Mrs Pope, asked twice then just hung up. I did 1471 and it wasn’t no reply. Earlier, another number rang for my daughter too. What’s happening? BT really needs to sort this out and stop all these calls.

The government really isn’t doing enough to stop annoying calls. BT and the other phone providers ought to offer Caller ID and Call Blocking for free, and the government should make laws to make sure they do. Every government promises to tackle nuisance calls but never really follows through. Properly sick of dealing with it.

got a call from an asian lady tryin to sell sky tv stuff, then suddenly the line just went dead but wasnt hung up properly, couldnt make any calls for a bit, after a few minutes it sorted itself out. they called back shortly after but nobody said anything before hanging up after a few minutes. then a different asian woman called, said they previously called and wanted to do a lifestyle survey. told her to remove me from their list and not to call again. ive told them this heaps of times before. feels like a sketchy call since they dont properly end the call.

spoke to an asian lady about sky tv, then the line just went dead but wasnt disconnected, i couldnt make any calls, after a few mins the line was back. A man with an Asian accent rang asking if I was Mr R-----, who apparently lived here over a decade ago. I told him he didn't live here anymore. He then double-checked the postcode with me, which I confirmed. He said sorry there was a ‘technical error’ with their data but said they were just doing a survey - emphasising he wasn’t trying to sell anything. He started to ask something about our TV licence or something similar, but I cut him off, saying I was really busy and asked him to take my number off their list. Then I ended the call.

01270877349 keeps ringing me about three times a week. Most times no one speaks, just silence. The last call tried to talk about savings but I ended the call quick. Being older and not very strong, these calls really bother me. I wish there was a way to stop them and get the company behind this to face consequences for pestering people. And just to clear things up for anyone who might doubt me, I've definitely registered with the TPS.

I picked up and they just hung up straight away. Then I put the phone down and picked it up again but the call was still active. I had to press the end call button to finally disconnect. It wouldn't be such a problem if they actually spoke when you answered! Because the call stayed connected after hanging up, I’m going to label this number as suspicious.

So annoying, they keep ringing me just when I'm winding down in the early evening. I'm signed up with TPS but these calls seem to come through some VOIP system. I've lost count of how many times I've given them a shouted earful, but it doesn’t stop them one bit - and trust me, I’ve used some very colourful language!
