I've had this number ring me repeatedly over the past week, especially after informing the woman that we don't subscribe to Sky. Since then, I've been bombarded with calls where they simply disconnect without saying a word. Quite annoying, I must say!

Got a call from an Asian lady looking for someone called Mr Rossy, which isn’t me. I told her that and she then asked if I was the bloke who owns the house. When I asked what this was about, she just ended the call. This ain’t the first time either. I’m thinking of reporting it to the TPS.

The government really isn’t doing enough to stop annoying calls. BT and the other phone providers ought to offer Caller ID and Call Blocking for free, and the government should make laws to make sure they do. Every government promises to tackle nuisance calls but never really follows through. Properly sick of dealing with it.

I recently had an unsettling experience with a call from an Asian woman regarding Sky TV. Just as we started chatting, the call just went silent - not cut off, mind you, but as if the line was still connected. After a few minutes, I found that I could finally make outgoing calls again. Quite oddly, they called back, but there was nobody on the other end, and they hung up shortly thereafter. Not long after, a different Asian woman reached out, claiming they had tried contacting me earlier for a lifestyle survey. I promptly told her to remove my number from their list and not to bother me in the future. This isn’t the first time I’ve had to deal with such unsolicited calls. I can’t shake the feeling that there’s something dodgy about these calls, especially since they're not even clearing the lines properly.

spoke to an asian lady about sky tv, then the line just went dead but wasnt disconnected, i couldnt make any calls, after a few mins the line was back. They called again but no one said anything then hung up. then a different asian lady phoned and said they tried before and wanted to do a lifestyle survey. A man with an Asian accent rang asking if I was Mr R-----, who apparently lived here over a decade ago. I told him he didn't live here anymore. He then double-checked the postcode with me, which I confirmed. He said sorry there was a ‘technical error’ with their data but said they were just doing a survey - emphasising he wasn’t trying to sell anything. He started to ask something about our TV licence or something similar, but I cut him off, saying I was really busy and asked him to take my number off their list. Then I ended the call.

Being older and not very strong, these calls really bother me. I wish there was a way to stop them and get the company behind this to face consequences for pestering people. And just to clear things up for anyone who might doubt me, I've definitely registered with the TPS.

I picked up and they just hung up straight away. Then I put the phone down and picked it up again but the call was still active. I had to press the end call button to finally disconnect. It wouldn't be such a problem if they actually spoke when you answered! Because the call stayed connected after hanging up, I’m going to label this number as suspicious.
