Got a call from an Asian guy wanting me to verify my name, sounded like one of those typical scam calls. I just hung up straight away. This was from midlandshouse.

Around 3 in the afternoon on Monday, 8th January 2018, this number rang me. I usually avoid answering my landline now since I can tell which calls are legit. No voicemail was left.

Let the phone ring until it stopped, didn’t leave any voicemail though, so I’m guessing it was just some scam call.

I got a call from some people claiming to be from a firm that would put me on a do-not-call list for spam. It felt a bit dodgy to me. At the end of the call, they said something like "you understand the purpose of this phone call," which seemed like they wanted me to say "yes." When I answered with "yes, to stop the spam calls," they just hung up. I reckon saying yes might have signed me up for some pricey scheme. Both callers sounded foreign, definitely not like they were anywhere near Crewe, which is where the call seemed to be coming from.
