As of 21st December 2023, it appears this number is still active with the same batch of scammers. I've gone ahead and flagged it to BT's abuse department.

I received a pre-recorded message claiming to be from Mastercard, stating that there were two suspicious transactions on my card-one for £14.99 linked to Amazon Prime and another amounting to several hundred pounds. It seems this particular con has been mentioned online numerous times over the last three months.

On 21st December 2023, this number was definitely still active with those scam folks. I’ve already notified BT’s abuse department about it. Like others have said, when I called back, there was this automated message claiming it was Mastercard warning me about two transactions: one for £14.99 linked to Amazon Prime, and another one for a lot more money. Total rubbish, as far as I’m concerned.

I got a call supposedly from 'the bank' about two transactions, quoting the amounts and asking me to confirm them. One was an overseas payment which I definitely hadn’t made, so it set alarm bells ringing. I ended the call and rang 147, which gave me this number - turns out it’s a scam. It’s frustrating that BT hasn’t done anything to fix this problem.

Got a voicemail saying my mastercard was charged a certain amount. Odd thing is, I don’t even own a credit card! My elderly husband, who’s 85, picked up the call and got pretty anxious. Luckily, he didn’t push any buttons on the phone, which was a relief.

I got a call supposedly from Visa saying someone had just used my card for £900 at Western Union. They asked if anyone had photographed my card or took it from me to make a payment. Then they wanted me to verify the digits on the back of my card. I didn’t share any details and told them I’d ring Visa myself before hanging up. After reading the comments here, it’s obvious this is a scam. I’ll be reporting that number for sure.
