Had a rather amusing chat with “Ryan” today, although his attempt at a South-East Asian accent was pretty cringe-worthy and honestly felt a bit off. He kept trying to pitch me some vague kind of energy product - perhaps some mystical energy he was either trying to sell or give away (he dodged my questions like a pro, might be a bit dodgy or even a racist, but you have to admit he’s sharp with sales). I kept asking if it was fusion power, because, scam or not, who’d say no to the possibility of free FUSION energy? Turning down that offer would be like rejecting the Beatles before they were famous. Even if it’s a rip-off: how much cash do you actually have? What about the energy bills? And how much does a fusion reactor cost? He could drain my bank account but I’d still end up better off in under two years. Ryan asked if I owned my home. Honestly, I’m not sure who really owns property these days; when I mentioned property equals theft and that ownership’s just a way for the ruling class to keep control, he cut in with “Do you own a semi-detached?” This felt a bit random and not really relevant to the philosophical chat we were having about ownership. So I made him list every type of house or dwelling he thought his energy could power. Then I told him I actually live on a houseboat… and he hung up straight away. Definitely a 2/5 experience from me.

Trying to peddle solar panels and batteries with promises of slashing your power bills by 97% is just nonsense. We have our own solar setup, and honestly, even if the sun blew up tomorrow, they wouldn’t magically cut that much off our bills. It’s the same old fibs and trickery, nothing new.

Got a call from someone about solar panels and she was really nice. When I explained I don’t own the house, she said she'd remove me from their call list.
