They keep ringing me and everytime I miss the call, the area code looks local so might be someone from a call centre nearby.

This number has rang me multiple times in the past few weeks, but never left a voicemail when I didn’t answer. I tried calling back using a private number and got through to someone named Wilson Tarquin, who I believe works for a PPI claims company. When they called again, I answered and asked them to take my info off their list, but the person just ignored me and hung up.

They kept saying they knew me and that we’d had a chat already. ("Come on John, you know who this is! We said you'd ring me back at 6:10!"). I had no clue who they were. Tried pushing life insurance on me, seemed like a total scam. As soon as I told them I wasn’t interested, whether we’d spoken before or not, they just cut me off straight away.

I got a phone call from someone claiming they were issuing a refund for a credit card I used to have with MBNA. It felt dodgy straight away, so I ended the call right away. Can anyone advise how to report this to the police or other official bodies?

Got loads of calls from this number in the last couple of days. Couldn't pick up most times for different reasons and they never left a message. Finally, I answered today and a woman asked for "my name." I could tell she was in some call centre, so I said "No one here with that name." She said sorry and hung up. I guess that's the last I'll hear from them. Definitely gonna use that response from now on! 🤷‍♂️

Just got a ring from a rude lady with a Northern accent, sounded like she was from one of those call centres. She claimed it was about a refund for my MBNA/Capital One card. I missed her name at first, so I asked again what her name was and which firm she was with. She snapped back, "Honestly, I'm not a flipping parrot," and hung up on me. Brilliant customer service there. Well done, Bossy Parrot!

got a call earlier today, the person knew my name and claimed they’d “sorted my claim and the cash was ready for collection”. when i firmly told them i never made any claim (definitely did not) the tone changed and they snapped “oh, so should i just donate your money to charity then?”. i hung up straight away and plan to report this to the financial watchdog.

Got a ring from them earlier today and they asked for me by name. I didn’t confirm who they were first and asked who was on the line. The bloke gave me a name, then when I asked again he said Red Star or something. No clue who they are, what company they’re for, or why they’re trying to get hold of me. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Normally I don’t pick up random calls but this one caught me off guard.

I received a rather rude PPI call from Redstar based in Manchester. When I confronted the caller about their tactics, I was simply told to "shut up" before they abruptly ended the conversation. I've since lodged a complaint with a manager and have also reached out to the appropriate authorities regarding unsolicited marketing calls. Be wary of Redstar!
