Just a heads up, I reckon there was a mix-up in the earlier comment about the area code. They mentioned a Brighton number (01273), but the number in question is actually from Crewe, Cheshire (01270). It belongs to a well-known jeweller around here, so nothing dodgy at all.

Got a voicemail from someone calling themselves "Andrew", asking me to ring back about some kind of recommendation from a neighbour they mentioned. The call came from a Brighton number linked to UK Service Plan, which I've heard is a well-known scam outfit.
