I nearly got caught up in one of those credit card phone scams the other day. If you accidentally hand over your details, you should ring your actual credit card company straight away. They’ll be able to shut down your current card and send you a replacement with a new number, stopping any dodgy transactions from going through.

Today I received a call from a new Crewe number, 0127 175 9800. Watch out, as it seems like yet another one to be cautious about!

This number just rang me, and there was a lady’s automated voice saying that £39.99 would be taken from my bank for my Amazon Prime subscription. It told me to press 1 if I wanted to talk to customer service. Since I actually have an Amazon Prime account, I nearly pressed 1 to query it. Then I recalled hearing that scammers use that to charge ridiculous phone fees, so I ended the call straight away. Just a heads up for anyone else getting calls like this!
