Somebody named Ella rang me from First Line about some Power of Attorney thing. She said she’d talked to me earlier, but I cut her off to say I already told her I wasn’t interested and to stop calling. I could still hear her babbling after I hung up. The first time she rang was from a mobile too. I’ve blocked both numbers now. cp

They called me askin’ if I have insurance with a couple of firms I don’t even deal with. Didn’t recognise either name. I noticed if you just stay quiet, they end the call quick, but if you respond, you usually get to talk to someone real on the other line. Quite strange really.

Got a call from someone claiming they wanted to discuss my broadband, but when I tried calling the number back on a different phone, it just said the number was no longer active.

I don’t normally pick up calls from unknown numbers, but since I was expecting a few important ones, I answered this time. The background noise made me think it was someone from a call centre. They addressed me by name, which was a bit creepy, and when I asked who they were, they said they wanted to talk about my First Line seniors insurance - which I definitely don’t have. I just said thanks but no thanks, then ended the call.
