I got a call from some bloke with an accent I couldn’t place, claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He told me my TPS was about to run out and I’d have to pay to renew it. Now, I’m pretty sure the TPS doesn’t expire, and it definitely doesn’t cost a penny to sign up. Plus, since I’m already registered, how on earth did these muppets even get my number? What I don’t understand is, do people really fall for this nonsense still? They ring you up out of nowhere, asking for your bank info, and some folks actually hand it over! Madness.
