I usually ignore any calls from numbers that aren't in my contacts. This one seems like another call centre, probably trying to pitch some costly services from a bank. Not keen on that sort of thing and won’t be returning the call. Funny enough, when I ignored a couple of mystery call centre calls from Nedbank, they ended up cancelling my overdraft and now I’m paying less in monthly fees.

Nearly got caught up in a scam recently. They already seemed to know some of my personal info, just needed me to verify it. My CallBlocker showed the call was coming from Pretoria, Tshwane. The woman on the phone said the application had to be done over a call, which sounded a bit off. She then asked for my bank account number even though she already had basics like the bank I use and some of my details (but no card or account numbers). As soon as she requested my account number, I ended the call straight away - that was the red flag for me. She sounded really convincing and the timing was spot-on, making it super easy to believe it was Telkom.

This number is linked to Telkom’s online orders, and honestly, their online department is the absolute worst part of the company - though the others aren’t great either.
