i got a robo call on the 20th of may telling me to ring them back. the message made it pretty clear it was a complete scam and something you should definitely stay away from. what annoys me is they used a maidstone number, making it seem real, when in fact hmrc has no offices in that area at all! total dodgy tactic.

I got a robo call saying it was from HMRC. Tried calling back but nobody answered. Did a quick Google check and found out it was a scam.

Got a robo call earlier, the person said they were from HMRC and threatened me with tax evasion charges if I didn’t ring their number back. Definitely a scam, so I wouldn’t bother calling them at all.

I received a rather alarming voicemail urging me to get in touch with a so-called 'HMRC' representative. They claimed I was facing legal action over alleged tax issues, which is absolute nonsense! I've blocked the number, but it seems utterly unjust for these individuals to instil fear in people by making such threatening calls. The number was 01268858082, in case anyone else wants to avoid this nonsense.

One of my clients got a call from a bloke with a really rough voice, saying he was from HMRC and demanding immediate tax payment or else there’d be legal trouble. I tried calling back for my client, and on the fifth try someone picked up and said “HMRC,” but wouldn’t share any details like their address. When I said I was the registered tax agent for the client, the guy refused to talk and told me to tell the client to call instead. Just as I was about to say more, he abruptly hung up. This is definitely a scam and I’ve reported it to HMRC.
