I dialled the number from a phone box and it said NO SUCH NUMBER. Seems like the call might be coming from overseas - not only can it mess with your device, but it also costs a fortune. I received a call from this number earlier today, on the 31st of March, around half past nine in the morning. An Asian woman on the line claimed she was from the technical department of BT Internet. Not quite sure what to make of it, I replied with an enthusiastic 'Oh really...' before she abruptly disconnected the call. Honestly, I should have responded with, "Ah yes, right, you're ringing to inform me about some issue with my IP address, just as your mate did a few days back." Quite the cheek, if you ask me!
