got a call from a lady who was quite insistent, saying she’d mailed me something about a grant for upgrading energy at home. she asked about the age of my windows. i explained i’m on the telephone preference service list, so she shouldn’t be ringing me. she argued that since her firm is legit and based in margate, they’re allowed to phone me. didn’t seem like she really got the tps rules. i just told her i’d wait for the letter and ended the call.

Luckily, our home phone has call blocking switched on, which is honestly a lifesaver. That number from Basildon never got a chance to talk to me or my partner. I can’t say what they were after, but after seeing what others have said, we’re quite relieved they were stopped before getting through.

got a call from someone who claimed to be calling from a Margate business, but the number wasn’t even from that area, turned out it was Basildon. She was really forceful and kept saying it wasn’t a cold call. I told her a few times I wasn’t interested, and only then did she finally put the phone down.
