I received a pre-recorded message claiming to be from the "BT technical support team," stating that my IP address had been potentially compromised and that my internet service would be cut off within the next 24 hours. I was prompted to press 1 if I wished to connect with a technician. However, my broadband isn’t even provided by BT! Furthermore, I noticed a similar message had previously landed on my answering machine from a different number, which I’ve since blocked. It’s obvious this is just another scam attempt.
