Today I got a call from this number too. The guy said he was from TalkTalk and pretty much said the same things others have mentioned before. When I didn’t reply, he just ended the call.

someone called saying he was alan from talktalk saying there’s been problems with my internet. he asked how many lights were blinking on my router. the only lights flashing seemed to be linked to my devices, not talktalk itself, so i got a bit wary and told him i’d ring talktalk directly to sort it out.

I answered and just said ‘hello’, but then some robotic voice immediately replied with ‘goodbye’. Definitely looks like one of those automated scam calls to me.

Got a ring from this number saying they were from the BT IT team. They told me there was some problem with my broadband that could let hackers get into my computer. They then wanted me to turn my PC on so they could guide me on fixing it. Pretty soon I cottoned on that it was just another scam trying to get me to hand over control of my computer.
