Got another dodgy call today. I’ve started to look up any unknown numbers here before picking up and it’s been a real help, so cheers to everyone who posts feedback. I’ve gone ahead and blocked this one straight away. Honestly, I don’t even want to count how many numbers I’ve got blocked on my phone now, hope it can handle loads! It’s a real pain having to keep blocking all these unwanted calls.

Earlier today, I received a rather unexpected phone call. The individual on the line claimed they were looking to assess my life insurance in order to see if I was being charged too much. They identified themselves as representatives from Legal & General and proceeded to inquire about my existing policies and various life insurance arrangements. When they probed about another policy I hold with a different company, I made it clear that I wasn't interested in switching providers and would prefer not to engage further with them. The caller then asked how much coverage I had with my Legal & General policy, to which I responded that they should have that information on hand since I was already a client. At that point, they abruptly disconnected the call. I can't help but think that someone who isn't as cautious might have unwittingly divulged personal information, not realising this was potentially a dodgy call.

I’m in total agreement with what others have said. I received a couple of missed calls, and when I finally picked up, all I was met with was utter silence. I hung up, only for the phone to ring once more-still nothing but silence. That number is now firmly on my blocked list!

Got a call from a lady who said her name was Rhiannon, claimed to be ringing from some review team about my life insurance. I told her to jog on since I don’t even have a life insurance plan! Can't believe they think I’d fall for that. Just another dodgy telemarketer trying their luck!

I received a message claiming I had a Legal and General insurance policy and they had my address on file. They mentioned they would be sending me further information. However, I’m certain I don’t have any such policy, so I’m not expecting to hear from them. It’s rather concerning that they’re misusing the names of legitimate companies!

Got a call on this number from some outfit called Assured Mutual. They said they worked with different life insurance companies and wanted to check if I was paying too much for my current policy. I did some digging and everyone says it's a total scam. Seems like they're trying to sell rubbish policies, mainly to snag your personal info and bank details. Avoid these lot!

Got a call from someone selling life insurance. I have to admit, the young woman on the line was quite polite and nearly had me convinced to keep talking. In the end, I just hung up and blocked their number.

got a call from some firm wanting to check my life insurance policy to see if it complies with recent rules. i asked which policy they meant and the bloke fumbled his words. i said i was fine with my policy and didnt want any review, but he kept insisting it was due to new laws. then i started using some finance jargon and he just ended the call!!

I received a rather brusque phone call from a chap hawking life insurance. The moment I hesitated to share any personal details, he turned rather cross. He tried to insist that it was far more advantageous for me to divulge my information to him rather than consulting my bank manager. To top it all off, he wouldn’t disclose the name of the firm he was supposedly working for. Quite the experience, I must say!

Got a call from some Welsh bloke about life insurance. I told him it was a private number and that I’m on the do not call list (TPS). But he just kept going on, asking if I’d say the same thing to the Police if they rang. I explained again that my number should be taken off their list since I opted out, but he wouldn’t give up and just repeated himself over and over.

If you keep getting silent or dropped calls, definitely report them to Ofcom. These scammers ignore comments here but Ofcom actually does something about it, and reporting takes just a couple minutes. Don't bother your phone provider, they seem more interested in making cash from caller ID services than stopping the nuisance calls.
