Got a call saying my internet would be cut off for a whole day unless I press 1 to check for supposed illegal stuff. Sounded dodgy to me.

I got a call on the 5th of Jan 2023 from someone who already knew my name and tried pushing me to discuss my life insurance. Didn't tell me who he was actually representing, just kept saying “my boss told me”. When I kept asking him where he got my info from, he just ended the call on me.

So, I got a call out of the blue from someone saying they were from my insurance company, offering to review my policy. They acted like they already had all my details and even mentioned a policy I never signed up for. Then they tried to talk me into changing or extending it. Felt really dodgy, like a sneaky sales pitch pretending to be legit.

Insurance call about life cover. The person was really persistent and tried pushing info about my plan nonstop. Even when I said I was fine with what I’ve got, he didn’t listen. He was polite enough, but I ended up hanging up since I couldn’t get a word in to say I wasn’t interested.
