01267618049 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01267618049 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance number linked to scam calls impersonating major UK internet providers like BT and TalkTalk. Callers, often with Indian accents, claim there are issues with the victim’s broadband or computer, attempting to gain remote access or personal information. Many report repeated calls from this and similar numbers despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Attempts to block or report the calls often prove ineffective, with the scammers frequently changing numbers and using local or international-looking prefixes to appear legitimate. Users are advised not to engage with unknown callers, avoid answering suspicious calls, and report incidents to relevant authorities. Blocking unknown numbers and refusing to disclose personal data remain the best defence against these fraud attempts.

Got multiple calls from this number, but whenever I picked up, the line went dead straight away. Total spam, avoiding it now.

I got a call from a woman who sounded Indian, saying she was from BT. The number looked local, but I reckon it was dodgy. Told her my internet’s fine and ended it.

Guess what? I got a call from someone in Wales, and surprisingly, it was an Indian person on the other end! Quite unexpected!

It seems we’ll have to sever ties with our BT line, as the overwhelming bulk of our calls are nothing but pesky spam. Unfortunately, BT doesn’t seem inclined to do anything about it.

I’d steer clear of answering those calls-they’ve been ringing me incessantly for the last three days from various numbers, all part of some online scam. I’ve taken the liberty of blocking each one of them, but they keep coming back with different digits. Quite the nuisance, isn’t it?

There was this noisy call centre buzzing in the back, and a guy with an Indian accent said he was ringing from BT. Totally a dodgy scam - he wanted to get into my computer or something. I played along to waste some time, then they put me through to some 'manager.' The bloke got quite nasty once he twigged I was messing with them. Honestly, what kind of people are these? How do they manage to sleep at night?!

I've received a barrage of missed calls-over 15, in fact-from this number and several closely resembling ones since last week. Fortunately, I've got a call blocker and announced calls activated on my phone, which has been keeping them at bay; my blocked list is expanding by the day! It’s quite peculiar as they all seem to ring me between half ten in the morning and half four in the afternoon!

I've had four missed calls to my landline, and they never pick up when I try to call back. The Telephone Preference Service seems completely disinterested in my plight, so I've been told to consider involving the police! It's turned into a right nuisance dealing with the call centre about it.

Got a couple of calls from this number today - I let the second one ring out. It was a bloke with a foreign accent saying he was from BT, talking about viruses and dodgy files. I've had similar calls from loads of different numbers all with the same spiel about fixing your computer by taking control of it. They must reckon we're daft or something! Best thing is just to hang up or not pick up at all.

Received three phone calls today regarding the same ongoing Wi-Fi issue. I contacted BT via their 0800 number, and they assured me they’d block the nuisance calls for me. However, it seems BT isn’t inclined to put a stop to this entirely, likely due to financial reasons. #BT #NoHelpFromBT

Loads of these calls happen because folks pick up! When you answer, it tells their auto-dialler that the number's active, so it keeps ringing again and again until someone actually talks to them. IF YOU KEEP PICKING UP, THEY WON'T STOP! Best thing is to just not answer if you don’t recognise the number, especially if it’s showing as an overseas call. If you just let those strange numbers ring and don’t pick up, eventually the system will remove your number after a few tries.

Got a bloke from India ringing me, claiming he's from TalkTalk tech support, saying my router's full of problems. He wanted me to type things into my computer like I’m daft or something! I’m so fed up with these calls - every time I block one number, they just call from another. Even though I’ve blocked unknown numbers, they somehow still manage to get past! TalkTalk don’t seem to care or offer any help at all >:(

I got a call from someone pretending to fix my computer, but it was just a scam to try and hack me. Best thing to do is just end the call and block the number right away.

I got a call from this number earlier. When I picked up, there was just a pre-recorded message that said "Goodbye," and then the call cut off abruptly. Quite strange!

I picked up the phone, and just ten seconds in, it went silent. I could faintly hear what seemed to be a call centre buzzing in the background. Since we’re on the Telephone Preference Service register, we shouldn’t be getting any unwanted calls at all. Clearly, these chaps have no regard for that. Best to steer clear of them!

This number just rang me earlier. Some bloke with an Indian accent said hello, but then there was no more noise, so I ended the call. Not sure who they were, but for the past few weeks I've had loads of calls from different numbers claiming to be from various service companies, warning me about some security breach. I reckon this was just another one of those annoying spam calls.

I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent asking for the homeowner, she correctly said my name. When I told her I wasn’t here, she wanted to know who I was. I said I’d rather not say and hung up. Then she rang again shortly after, this time asking for someone else, guessing maybe a husband or partner. I told her no one by that name lived here, and she just ended the call.

I've been bombarded with calls for the past four days, and it's really starting to get on my nerves! I've blocked every number they've used, yet they just keep coming up with fresh ones. How frustrating! Grrrrr!

Today, I received a rather dubious call from a chap named Jack Hall claiming to be with BT. He informed me that my broadband would be disconnected tonight due to some sort of corruption issue. When I pressed him for specifics, he was rather vague, simply insisting there was a 'problem.' I decided I’d rather get clarity directly from BT, so I mentioned I'd make that call - at that point, he abruptly terminated the conversation. It’s peculiar how this number appears to be local to Carmarthen yet shows up as an international call. Interestingly, I had another missed call yesterday from 01267253187; it rang off before I could answer. I’ve now blocked both numbers, which is rather tedious. We’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but it feels utterly pointless at times.

This morning, my landline got two calls from this number, claiming to be BT. I could hear voices in the background, which led me to suspect it might be a telemarketing scam or some sort of fraud, so I hung up rather swiftly.

These annoying people keep ringing, trying their luck to trick someone into giving them access to steal money. If you try to ring them back, the number usually just doesn't work at all.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT, mentioning problems with my internet. Funny thing is, just the day before a BT engineer had been at my place sorting out the broadband. I almost hung up straight away, but she kept asking if I owned a laptop or a PC. When I told her I only use my iPhone, she just cut the call off. Luckily, I looked up the number here and it’s obviously dodgy. Really hope the police are cracking down on these scammers soon.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming there was an issue with my BT broadband. But I don’t even use BT for my internet! She wanted me to let her access my PC remotely to sort it out. I said no way, then she just ended the call straight away.

I’ve received numerous calls from this number, yet each time I pick up, it’s just dead air on the line. All I get is an abrupt message saying, “The other person has hung up.” Quite baffling!

I received a rather odd call from a foreign woman claiming she was going to disconnect my internet for a whole three months! I politely told her that it wasn't going to happen, then promptly hung up and blocked her number. Quite the nuisance, really!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from BT. He warned me about some viruses supposedly being installed on my computer without me realising it. He then told me to follow his directions, or else my internet would be cut off for half a year. And not just from BT - apparently no other provider could connect me either during that time! I just found it all a bit dodgy, laughed it off, and ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Had a rather odd call from an overseas gent claiming to be from "Talk Talk." Started off by saying there was an issue with my router and then proceeded to push for me to access some remote desktop site. Naturally, I was a bit suspicious and gave him some cheek. That’s when he got a bit feisty, threatening to flag my number, involve the authorities, and even cut off my internet altogether. He went so far as to say he'd ensure no other provider would give me service! I calmly informed him I was recording our conversation for evidence and planned to report him to the police. He dismissed me as being absurd, what a cheek!

Saw no reviews here so I thought I'd ring back, but the number wasn't even valid. It showed as from Wales, with a 22 prefix or something? If it was just a pesky call, not sure why bother then. Anyway, I’ve blocked it now on my phone.

I got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who said he was from BT, talking about my internet. There was this weird pause before he spoke, which made me suspicious. I didn’t let him get another word in and just ended the call. BT isn't who I use for internet anyway. What’s odd is I got another call yesterday from the same area code but a different number, and my phone flagged it as an international call. I’ve gone ahead and blocked both of those numbers now.
