Last week, my father, who’s 76, got a rather alarming letter from Home Sure Solutions. It claimed to be from their collections department, insisting he owed £42 and threatened him with debt recovery measures. The contact number they provided, 0800 448 0181, turned out to be linked to a gif gaf voicemail service. Feeling uneasy, I did a bit of digging online and stumbled across this website.

Some bloke pretending to be from Home Sure gave us a ring the other day. I told him straight up he was a con and to keep away. Before that, a woman called the same number and chatted with my husband. When he asked what company she was from, she quickly switched it to 'Home Sure Solutions' saying they were legit. We've let Home Sure Solutions know about the dodgy call.

Got a call from 01267310108 earlier today, some woman saying my white goods insurance was running out and she even knew my name. I told her we’d already cancelled it, but she kept going on about my washing machine, cooker, fridge, and freezer. I told her I’d never had insurance on the cooker or freezer, and she quickly said ‘yes, that’s right’. I told her I thought she was trying to rip me off and that we weren’t interested in any insurance before hanging up. Had a call like this a few months ago too - proper annoying!

They ring me every single day, and keep calling me Mrs Thatcher, which isn’t even what I’m called! They say they’re from homesure or something like that. It’s definitely dodgy - they try to get your credit card details to renew some sort of home or appliance insurance. It’s got to the point where I’ve had to be quite blunt with them cause it’s really getting on my nerves and feeling like harassment.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from HOMESURE, saying they'd knock down our insurance from £21 to £14 since we were classified as low risk. I have to say, the bloke was super charming and had me nearly convinced to go along with what he said was an insurance renewal. Usually, I spot dodgy calls straight away, but this one was really slick. I almost went ahead and handed over my bank info, but thankfully the warning about never sharing details with unsolicited callers rang in my head. Honestly, he was THAT convincing. But with this particular number, I heard some sort of background music play just before the caller hung up. I reckon this method is pretty good - if it’s something important, they’ll leave a message, and then we can choose to call back or not.
