They claimed to be from some 'cash for you' scheme or whatever. I told them I'd been contacted before and asked them to delete my info cos I wasn’t interested. Then they kept going on, like “WHY? Moneywise rang me but didn’t say what for. I picked up and said nothing. The bloke just kept going hello, then said he could hear me and started bashing the keypad loads of times, real professional stuff! Then he laughed and hung up. I called him back and left the phone just sitting there, they hung up. Tried again, left the phone alone. Bet they don’t like getting hassled! Maybe more people ought to try this!

Tommy - "You know me from the street" - he mentioned a residence just a couple of doors down. What a blunder! I asked him how he got my digits and he claimed I’d handed them to him at the local pub a few weeks back - yet another blunder! I told him that wasn’t possible as I’d just returned from a weeks-long jaunt in Australia! I told him to jog on and ended the call - then, a mere 20 minutes later, he rang back and left a voicemail - "Hi, it's Tommy from down the street," and proceeded to let the message drag on for a solid three minutes, inundating me with the sounds of some call centre chaos. What a complete and utter plonker! He really ought to rethink his life choices, but I doubt he’ll find anything resembling decent mental health support here in Carmarthen! I’m reporting the number for harassment to the local authorities and OFCOM. What a muppet he is! (Apologies, a muppet has its uses!)

Got a call about some "money increase on hidden insurance," which I think was about PPI. When I asked when I agreed to be contacted, the guy said we’d had a chat last week and I was fine to talk. I told him that definitely wasn’t true and asked to be taken off their calling list. After that, he got proper rude. Eventually, I just ended the call - really pushy caller, best to IGNORE and NOT PICK UP.

They seemed to know who I was and claimed they could recover all the interest I’d lost since I turned 18, without any paperwork involved. When I requested a written confirmation, the bloke on the other end said they don’t provide that sort of thing and insisted that I was missing out on my own funds. Got a call from someone saying there was some money waiting for me about PPI being wrongly sold on my credit card, mortgage, loans and car finance. He asked which one I had. Complete nightmare, ringing me at 7 in the evening while I’m trying to eat. The guy on the line actually had the nerve to call me a fool and then hung up on me. I rang back and the manager picked up, who was just as bad, asking if my tea was warm or cold and then accused me of being the rude one. They never said how they knew it, just asked who they were speaking to, then said 'red star' and started on about me owing money on a credit card from like 20 years ago. I suspected it was some ppi scam, but I’m really curious about where they got my personal info from. I informed him right off the bat that I hadn’t requested his call. I believe he introduced himself as Caspar and started rambling about some fund or other. When he claimed I must have ticked a box on a credit form, I insisted that I hadn’t and promptly said goodbye. Yet, he immediately rang me back three times in a row! On the third attempt, I picked up, and he tried to tell me we’d been disconnected. I clarified that we hadn’t, and I was the one who had hung up. I received a call from this bloke claiming he was going to check into some cash he believed I was owed. He mentioned there’d be a fee involved, but essentially, it works like this: the money that’s supposedly owing to me gets kept in a sort of holding account. I’d need to pay them £299, and then they’d happily release the funds. Honestly, does he think I fell off the turnip truck yesterday?

When I pointed out that it was a TPS number, the caller brusquely asked for a code and insisted it didn’t concern them. The tone was incredibly disrespectful, and it's clear this lot are nothing but a bunch of con artists.

There was a long silence before a bloke started speaking really fast. When I asked what it was about, he claimed something about an insurance claim for my home. I asked where he got my info from and he said it was some kind of opt-in from insurance firms. Sounds like nonsense to me. He got quite nasty when I told him to remove my number from their records, and then got downright rude. I told him off to hang up, but he tried to keep me on the phone, so I just blocked the number.
