Like lots of people have said before, this number claims to be from BT or Openreach trying to mess about. I rang the BT Nuisance Line on 0800 661 441 to get some advice. They told me if your phone shows the caller ID and it's this number, pick up right away on the first or second ring then hang up straight away. Apparently, that confuses the robocallers into thinking your line isn't active, so they stop calling you. Hopefully, this tip helps others too!

Absolutely a scam! I've received three calls today purportedly from BT Openreach. Don’t fall for “John Wilson” and his band of fraudsters. The final call was really quite rude!

Some bloke rang me saying he’s from BT Openreach. I didn’t trust it right away and joked if he’d given up on the usual Windows technical support scam. Then I told him to maybe I should ring him back, so I asked for his direct number. He didn’t want to give it, which just made me more sure he was messing about and not being honest.

Some bloke rang saying my computer was full of problems. I acted like I was falling for it and kept him chatting for about 15 minutes while I “typed in some codes” in my browser. Eventually, he started getting rude, so that was quite entertaining in a weird way.

Had a couple of calls this morning from someone saying they were BT, wanting me to have my internet ready due to some problem. I said my internet was working perfectly fine and ended the call. Then they rang back again, and I told them straight up if no-one spoke English, I was going to put the phone down. Sure enough, I did just that.

I told him to cut it out and that I was hanging up, but he disconnected first. It’s obvious these scammers keep on trying because they reckon someone might eventually fall for it. She told me my computer had a virus and that she could help sort it out if I followed her directions. When I pressed her to explain exactly what was wrong, she just ended the call. Avoid answering if you get this, it’s a trick to get you to download malware or something worse.

Got called a couple of times today by people claiming to be from BT Openreach working for Virgin Media. They said my PC had a hidden virus and told me to follow their instructions. As if I'm daft enough to do that and end up with ransomware locking my stuff till I pay up! BT wouldn't ring me out the blue anyway, especially since I'm not their customer, and Virgin Media only calls if there’s been a reported issue with your line or broadband. I'm on the TPS and my number’s ex-directory - how on earth are these muppets still getting through?

today, on 4th april 2016, i got a call from 0126666694 and it was the same old india scam with teamviewer like in this video. i kept them on the line for about 10 minutes just messing around till i got fed up. everything they said was exactly what this video showed, word for word. in the end, i told the guy i knew it was a scam and was bored, so i was just wasting their time. then, outta nowhere, they just hung up! lol, pathetic really.

Got a call at 10:26am on 7th April 2016 from someone with a calm Asian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach about an internet issue. When I mentioned the calls I’ve been getting that seem to come from some number linked to Venezuela, he just asked me to say it again and then cut off.
