Today I got a call on my landline from a number Which? has flagged before for scams (odd it hasn’t been posted here yet). They left a recorded message warning that my "Amazon Prime" subscription was about to expire and would auto-renew unless I "pressed one." Obviously a scam as I don't even have an Amazon Prime account, but I guess the threat of automatic renewal might trick some into staying on the line to check. Apparently this has been going on for months according to Which? and others.

This number, which Which? has flagged before for different scams (I’m surprised it wasn’t listed here already), rang me today. I got an automated voice claiming my "Amazon Prime" subscription was about to end and would renew automatically unless I "pressed one". It’s obviously a con, especially as I don’t even have an account with them. But I guess the mention of auto-renewal might trick some folks into staying on the line to check it out. Oh, and it came through on my landline. From what Which? and others say, this scam has been screwing around for months now.
