got a call from an asian guy saying my computer’s been down for a few days. i kept asking him to tell me his name and spell it out, which seemed to annoy him, and then he just hung up. shame actually, i was having a bit of fun with it!

I received a rather peculiar call from this number on the 4th of May, 2017. The caller simply greeted me with a "hello," and when I inquired as to his identity, he abruptly disconnected the line. Interestingly, I had just received another call roughly thirty minutes earlier from someone with a foreign accent claiming to represent BT. I ended that call rather swiftly as well, but the preceding number was hidden.

I had a gander at this through either Groupon or Secret Escapes last week, although the memory's a bit fuzzy. I didn’t go ahead with any booking or share my personal info-just took a peek using the provided link. Quite concerning if these companies are passing on information like that!

Beware of these con artists masquerading as “BT Broadband” (or some such name like Varch Glibbet). They tried to intimidate me into believing they’d cut off my internet service. They rang me at 13:16 on the 3rd of May, 2017. A good tip is to inquire about your external IP address-if they can’t provide it, you can be sure it’s a ruse. (Shared this on whatupag.com) Steer clear of these scammers! Always provide them with misleading information, and under no circumstances should you allow them remote access to your computer. They might request you download some dodgy software from a link they send. Just don't do it!

FRAUDULENT CALLER posing as "BT Broadband" (alias Varch Glibbet) Claimed I was about to lose my broadband service! Received a call on 3rd May 2017 at precisely 13:16. Pro tip: Always inquire about your external IP address! If they can't provide it, it's definitely a scam. (Submitted on unknownphone.com) STAY AWAY from these charlatans at all costs - offer them INCORRECT details, and under NO circumstances allow them to remotely access your computer. They might request you download some dodgy software through a link they provide - just say NO to that!

Somebody rang me claiming to be from "BT Broadband" (a right dodgy sort) saying they were going to cut off my internet at 13:16 on 3/5/2017. A good test is to ask for your external IP address - if they can't tell you, it's definitely a scam. (Shared on who-called(###][###]) Don't engage with these scammers at all. Give them bogus info instead, and under no circumstances let them access your computer remotely. They'll likely want you to install software from a link they send, but never, ever do that!

after a weird silence, this bloke with a really english-sounding name called and claimed he was from the national crime agency. apparently, he said my computer was involved in some scam. i didn't waste a second, hung up straight away, and rang the nca myself. turns out it wasn't their number at all and they warned me never to share any banking or computer details with these sort of calls.

So this woman said she was Officer Iris or something, and when I started asking questions about the police, she warned me not to be cheeky. She even knew my first name and said it wouldn't be smart to refuse to cooperate since she claimed to have my home address. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

got a call from someone claiming to be 'bt tech support' saying my work internet would be cut off in three months. problem is, we don't have any bt services at all. i told her to go ahead then. i asked the woman, who sounded asian, for her name as we were recording for the police. she said it was rosie. my partner then said he works in bt tech and never heard of anyone called rosie and she just hung up straight away.

Some woman with a sort of Asian accent called, saying she was from the national crime agency and that my hubby was caught up in some cyber crime thing. I told her to buzz off, and she told me the same! Then she said my husband needed to leave the house and head down to the local police station - which doesn’t even exist near our village! I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Jeremy Cooper from the national crime agency, but the guy had a heavy accent and didn’t really sound like a proper officer. I checked the number and found nothing, so I rang the real NCA myself. They told me it was probably a scam and warned me not to share any personal info. Turns out, it wasn’t legit at all.
