I received a call from a woman purporting to represent BT, stating there was an issue with my 'defective' internet connection and asking if I could jump on my computer to carry out some updates. Given that I’ve never had an account with BT, I immediately sensed something was amiss. I decided to press her for more information about her department, job title, and who her manager was. Unsurprisingly, she abruptly hung up!
