So this bloke named David from some Call Blockers place rang me up from a local number. I told him I wasn’t interested in paying for their service, but then he started begging me not to hang up. Then out of nowhere he said he’d pay me if he could stay over at mine or pop round when my husband was out at work. Honestly, my husband being there didn’t seem to bother him one bit.

So I got this really pushy call from someone claiming to be with BT, shouting like they were in some busy call centre. They kept telling me my broadband security was at risk, even though I've already got it well sorted. I’m pretty sure it was either a scam or just a hard sell for some service I definitely don’t require.

Somebody rang me saying they were from Amazon, but there was loads of noise in the background, made it hard to hear. They asked me what phone I was using, but I told them it was a landline, and they’d actually called me. Then they said there was a dodgy order for an iPhone 13 on my account and they wanted to give me a refund. They asked for my bank details, which I obviously didn’t give and just ended the call.

Honestly, these callers make you wonder if they actually believe everyone they dial is a complete mug. I had some time to kill, so I pretended to be clueless about their attempt to grab my personal details. I fed them a load of fake info, including a phone number I just made up and the address of the nearest police station. Then, I told them I wasn’t a fool and that they’d just wasted around ten minutes chasing their tails. It was quite entertaining while it went on.

First, there was some sort of clunky noise for a moment, then I could hear a noisy office in the background before a woman started talking, saying she was from Open Reach about my internet being cut off soon. I told her I had no clue what she was on about, and she ended the call way faster than I expected!
