Then out of nowhere he said he’d pay me if he could stay over at mine or pop round when my husband was out at work. Honestly, my husband being there didn’t seem to bother him one bit.

Received a call purporting to be from Amazon. The line was rather chaotic with all sorts of noise in the background. They inquired about which mobile I was using, despite the fact that I was on a landline - and they had rung me! They claimed there was a potential fraudulent order for an iPhone 13 linked to my account and that I was due for a refund! Of course, to process this, they wanted my bank account details, which set alarm bells ringing. So, I promptly ended the call.

Honestly, some folks are just incredibly naive, as if they believe everyone they call is completely gullible. I had a little time on my hands, so I thought I’d have a bit of fun and pretended I was oblivious to their dodgy intentions, all while they tried to fish for my details. I fed them a concoction of random digits I crafted on the spot, followed by the address of my local police station. Then, I made it clear that I wasn't born yesterday and they’d just spent the better part of ten minutes being taken for a right fool. It was quite the laugh while it lasted!
