I’m from Bristol and got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who claimed she had a brilliant offer for me as a loyal Virgin Media customer. Something didn’t feel right from the moment she started talking. Since the Virgin Media account is actually under my partner’s name, I decided not to carry on with the call.

Today I got 3 spam calls. The first was around 1:15pm, then later I had two right after each other at about 5:58 and 5:59pm. Honestly, don’t bother answering them, just hang up straight away! Best thing to do is block them all. Oh, and I’m in Leicester if that helps anyone.

Got a call claiming to be from O2 with a “special one-off offer”. They told me to look at my emails and texts for two messages - one saying it’s legit and another with a link to this exclusive deal. I was straight up with them, said I thought it was dodgy and most likely a scam. The caller kept pushing for info, but I kept telling them I wasn’t buying it. Eventually, they got annoyed and said “don’t waste my time” before hanging up. I reckon if I’d played along, they’d have tried sending nothing at all, then asked me for my phone number or email. Or maybe they’d have pretended to give me the offer over the phone, but only if I gave my bank details. Worst case, clicking a dodgy link could’ve let them take over my phone. Glad I didn’t get caught out.
