Speak softly so these individuals struggle to catch what you’re saying, then hit them with a sharp blast from a referee’s whistle to really get their attention!

I’d say having a BT call blocker beats being ex-directory any day. Since we got the new phone set up, we’ve only had one dodgy call manage to get through, and before that, we were getting bombarded with about 8 spam calls every single day. It really seems to be doing the trick!

Got a call from this number today but they didn’t leave any message on my answering machine. I looked it up here and lucky I did because I’m ex-directory and got a TPS warning. Sounds like just another annoying nuisance call.

Got a call this afternoon around 3:15 from an Indian lady asking if I’d been in a car crash. I told her I don’t drive so no accidents for me (which is true). Then suddenly she said 'johhhh' or something weird and the line just cut off. I’m also registered with TPS and used to be a director. What’s even the use of these calls?

Got a call at like 2:04 pm, she started asking if I’d been in some kind of accident. I just said, “Yep, it was with you, you ___,” and then I hung up right away.

Paul from the accident claim service called me on 012645838025. As soon as I said a) our phone number's ex-directory b) we've never been in a car crash c) we're on the TPS, he just hung up. Bit strange really.

I’m on the x directory, yet somehow my number keeps getting found - what’s the use of having it private then? It’s really irritating. You’d expect the x directory to actually keep things private, not have your details just out there for anyone to see. Honestly, something needs to be done about it because it defeats the whole purpose!

There was an incident quite a few years back, though I wouldn't want to pin down the exact time. The person involved didn't speak English.

Got a call from India, the person on the other end barely spoke English and it felt like a total scam. I just hung up straight away. Honestly, it’s about time these nuisance callers got dealt with, they’re such a pain!

I’ve got an ex-directory phone number that really shouldn't be getting any calls. I recently got one of those dodgy insurance scam calls, where they claimed I'd been in some sort of accident. The dead giveaway was the caller had a thick Indian accent. Are these scammers honestly that clueless? When I told them they must know more about it than I do and asked for specifics, they just ended the call straight away - what muppets!

My number's meant to be ex-directory and not for cold calls, but I just got a dodgy call about car insurance. Definitely a scam!

I'm utterly exasperated with these muppets who keep phoning! We've repeatedly told them that we haven't had a flaming accident, yet they continue to pester us like a bad smell. It's beyond annoying!

Received a call around 1 o'clock this afternoon, but there was absolutely nobody on the line. The call cut off just a few moments later.

Had around a dozen calls from these folks, and we had to warn them we'd involve the police if they didn’t cease and desist!

With whom was this ring associated?

Total insurance con artists! They called out of the blue, inquiring about an accident that never actually took place.

We picked up the phone promptly to greet them, but it was bizarre - there was no response. After a mere ten seconds of silence, they abruptly hung up! Just typical, getting an unwanted call right in the middle of dinner.

That number seems to have an extra digit; it can't possibly be a valid UK number.
