Initially, this number reached out to me, allegedly representing a life insurance company, trying to persuade me into taking out a policy. I expressed my lack of interest, to which he inquired about my reasons. I simply mentioned that I was perfectly satisfied with my existing coverage. In response, he insisted they could offer me savings, and I informed him that should I wish to consider alternatives, I'd explore options online for myself. He then switched tack, claiming to be affiliated with my current insurer, to which I retorted, 'No, you mentioned you were from a different company.' He replied that he collaborated with numerous firms and was reaching out on their behalf. I found that rather dubious, given that my life insurance provider has never had my mobile number, and honestly, I was rather curious as to how he obtained it. He seemed to falter a bit, so I challenged him, asking if he could disclose my actual insurance company's name, since he purported to work with them. His response was a hesitant, 'Erm, I got your number from, um, a web, online.' At that point, I decided I'd heard enough and kindly asked him not to call again. He offered a quick 'bye' and we ended the call. While I acknowledge the fellow was just attempting to do his job, he strayed into dishonesty when he falsely claimed affiliation with my insurance provider, which completely eroded my trust! - caller: A vastly untrustworthy life insurance call centre.
