He tried to get a phone number which sounded like it might have been a credit card number. When questioned, he ended the call abruptly. Many users feel its just another attempt to trick people.

I got a call from some bloke claiming to be with BT, but he didn’t say it straight away. Part way through the chat, he asked me for a number, I reckon it was my card details. I told him he must be joking if he thought I’d give that out. After that, he just hung up. Sounds like another one of those dodgy scam calls to me.
