12 yearsGot a call this Wednesday morning from a bloke with a strong foreign accent, sounded like he was from India or Pakistan. He claimed there were issues with our Windows computer. Said his name was Harry Jones, which struck me as a bit dodgy straight away. When I said it sounded like a scam, he rattled off some reference number and a massive computer ID. His accent made it hard to follow, and when he tried spelling stuff out using the phonetic alphabet, he fumbled on letters, especially the one for F. I told him I’d call back from a different phone. Tried phoning the number he gave, but it was dead, so clearly a con. These scammers need to be stopped before more people fall for it.
