Just got a call like that a moment ago. I hit 1 like they said, then some bloke starts telling me my internet’s gonna get cut off due to loads of hackers messing with my router. Felt fishy straight away, so I told him I wasn’t falling for some scam and hung up quick sharp. No clue what they wanted from me.

I had the same experience, it was definitely a scam trying to trick me into giving my internet account info and personal stuff. The call was an automated message, just like the ones other people mentioned.

this morning i got a few calls from some new number, they said there was a problem with my router and that hackers were at it. after that, i got a recorded message warning me my internet would get cut off today. it sounded pretty serious and kept ringing me a few times, so i called talktalk to check and they told me it was a scam! really glad i double checked.

When I answered, a woman with an American accent said something about my internet having issues linked to California. She told me to press 1 for tech help or they'd cut my line. I just hung up and then googled the number - turns out it’s from Cromer in Norfolk. Seems like a scam to me.

Somebody called me pretending to be from my internet provider, saying they'd cut my service off if I didn't pay up. I'm a woman from the States and it freaked me out a bit.
