Last week they rang me once or twice, then rang twice again today. I didn’t pick up the two calls on my mobile, but then I dialled the number back from my landline. The voice on the other end sounded like it was coming from someone’s lounge. When I mentioned the calls from today, the bloke didn’t seem to catch on what I was talking about. The area code is from a town on England’s east coast, but his accent was more like he was from Merseyside, miles away. He told me the calls were about holidays I’d apparently booked, but before long, he was quick to offer to take me off their list. I think I must’ve come across too tough or sceptical for whatever scheme they had in mind. If they ring you, block the number if that’s possible, or just don’t answer if you can’t.
