Oh, definitely steer clear of 01261 940009, I wouldn’t pick up if I were you.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from O2, saying I could get 25% off. I humoured them for a bit. They mentioned they'd send a promo code by text, then went on to ask if I was PAYG or on a contract. I told them they should know that since they were offering me a deal as a customer. That’s when they twigged I wasn’t taking it seriously and started shouting abuse at me, calling me all sorts of names. Thing is, I’m not even with O2! Pretty obvious it was some sort of scam call.

Never pick up calls from numbers you don’t recognise, especially if you suspect they might be linked to scam or slam. It’s best not to engage or respond to these unknown callers.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Currys Mobile, sounded like they had an Asian accent. They asked for my account info and then said they needed a one-time code I’d just received. I told them nicely to buzz off.

I got a call from a polite Asian gent pretending to be from my bank. He was trying to trick me into giving my account info. Definitely something fishy going on with this number.
