Got a call from someone with an Asian accent who said his name was Jackson. He actually asked for me specifically, so I told him no one by that name lives here. Oddly enough, he then apologised for taking up my time. Even tho, I’m convinced it’s some kind of scam!

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, saying I could get a better deal if I upgraded my phone. Thing is, I just bought a new one, so I knew straight away it was nonsense. When I mentioned I was heading to the shop instead, the bloke got really rude. Definitely didn’t come across as genuine - felt like a proper scam. I wouldn’t pick up if I were you, they seem to be trying all sorts of tricks to fool people.

I've had this number call me about four times within an hour. Figured it might be urgent, so I answered the last time. The guy on the other end started asking about a loan I supposedly took out, which I never did. He got really rude and was quite aggressive. Sounds like a total scam to me. Best not to pick up!

Definitely a scam, don’t trust it.

After seeing the comments, I decided not to pick up the phone, glad I didn’t. No legit company would ring you at 6pm on a bank holiday like Easter Monday, so it must be a scam.

01260764084 So I told the bloke on the phone "No thanks, not interested" and he just told me to **** off! Look, I get that times are tough and people need to earn a living, but i'd honestly rather go out and collect scrap or clean up parks than ring random people trying to con them. Definitely put this number on your block list, loads of callers pretending to be from your phone company. Best advice? Stay calm, block ’em and keep going.

Someone called Jonathan phoned me saying my appliances’ warranty had finished and he could sell me extra coverage. I said there’s no way he’d know that since I got my appliances from various places and at different times. He kept pushing to sell me something though. I ended up telling him I reckoned it was a scam, wished him goodnight, and hung up - even though he was still trying to chat about some other insurance!

They tried to say they were from D&G insurance, claiming I was a valued client and invited me to grab a great deal. When I asked what they’d actually got insured with D&G, she said a washing machine, which is totally wrong. Then she started offering to cover all my electrical stuff for a cheap price. She mentioned I’d have to cancel my current policy and sign up for a new one, and of course, she’d want my bank details. Absolutely no way was I giving that information over the phone!

I had a rather dodgy phone call from someone who reeked of a scammer's intentions, all keen to nick my bank information. This charlatan claimed to be renewing our warranty on appliances and even threw in a tempting 40% discount! I've promptly added this number to my block list!

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from Assure and Save. Felt like it was one of those scams straight away. Decided to mess with her a bit and threw in some comments hoping she’d get frustrated, like asking if she was really just after my bank info. She quickly warned me that trying to get my details could cost me my job! After a short chat, I kindly said no and refused to renew the suspicious policy they were talking about.

Someone called me saying they were ringing about warranties for my kitchen appliances. When I asked for specifics, she mentioned things like the fridge-freezer, washing machine, and cooker. I found it odd since I'd bought each at different times and any warranty should have expired long ago. She insisted it wasn’t an issue and that they could handle it anyway. I told them straight away it sounded like a scam and hung up.

Is it even legal for calls from numbers like this to keep coming through? I’ve noticed a lot of these when looking into small online loans. From what I’ve seen, only a handful of reputable lenders actually deliver. The rest just bombard you with endless calls pushing dodgy ads. I’m calling it harassment more than anything else since I never pick up, but definitely watch out for them...

There’s a slight pause from the call centre when I answer, then a lady comes on saying she’s ringing about my appliance insurance, which I’ve never signed up for. Seems I've been added to some new calling list because everyone lately has been mixing up my first and last name. When I told her to remove me from their list, she replied, “Why, Mr Roy?” We’re on the TPS register, but it only stops legit firms, not these lot.
